Empowering Communities
WestREAP is committed to offering educational opportunities and support to rural communities on the West Coast/Te Tai o Poutini. Our goal is to empower individuals of all ages through our initiatives and programs, fostering their potential and positively influencing the lives of those we serve. We invite you to join us our mission to create a stronger, more dynamic community where everyone has the chance to learn, grow, and achieve success.

Our Mission / Kaupapa
The objective of WestREAP (Westland Rural Education Activities Programme Incorporated Society) is to identify gaps in the provision of education for rural communities for all ages, and develop strategies to fill those gaps, either through REAP programmes or in collaboration with others.
WestREAP has been operating for over 40 years providing educational pathways to local communities across the Westland and Grey districts, from Jackson Bay in the south, to Punakaiki in the north and east to Otira. WestREAP promotes community development, integrating education and the provision of information with activities in other sectors including health, social services, community organisations, Poutini Ngāi Tahu hapū and rūnanga and local government. WestREAP has recently supported the establishment of Te Hono o Ngā Waka, a kaupapa Māori social service agency for Te Tai o Poutini. WestREAP can act as an independent initiator and facilitator of community change.
