Kapu Tii me te Korerero
(Cup of Tea and a Chat)

Back in  late 2019 the then new WestREAP Chief Executive Ivan Wharerimu Iraia began an informal weekly group to learn basic conversational Te Reo, waiata, karakia and tikanga. During 2020 this group established a core of regular participants and outgrew the WestREAP staff smoko room where it first started.
Moving into 2021 this class is made up of a small but diverse group of people.  The levels of understanding of Te Reo varies from learner to learner but the tutor Whare makes for an inclusive, supportive and fun learning experience.
The tutors vary occasionally with guest appearances from WestREAP's Administration Assistant Lucy Tonihi and others.
If you want to enjoy a fun group of supportive people and learn Te Reo, pronunciation, karakia (prayer), waiata (songs) and tikanga (culture and protocol) in an informal learning setting then this is the place for you.
Registrations are not required, just show up.
