Early Literacy Programme
As part of our Whakamana Te Whanau Programme (Empowering Family Learning), we operate a pre-reading programme for pre-school children aged 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. The programme teaches the child and caregiver early literacy skills before they start school.
The programme consists of 2-18 sessions for one hour each week. Sessions are conducted in the family home by our Early Literacy Tutors. Times are flexible and we will arrange the best time to visit each whanau.
The programme is free and is funded by WestREAP, through the Tertiary Education Commission and other sponsors.
